Dollar-Help was created to provide crisis assistance to those who have exhausted all avenues of public energy assistance funds and still find themselves in need.
Since 1982, Dollar-Help has raised and distributed more than $15 million to help pay heating bills of all types -- gas, electric, heating oil and propane.
For many families, the cold weather brings the struggle to stay warm. For the elderly, disabled or low-income families, winter can bring difficult financial and physical hardships. Heating bills often are higher than a fixed- or low-income budget can afford, and although the government provides some relief, it often is not enough.
