Tony La Russa's "Ask The Expert" Book on Baseball Strategy

Ever second-guess a baseball manager? Most fans have. Now, for only $10 you can learn "inside baseball" from one of baseball’s best managers — all the while helping the poorest of the poor keep warm in winter.

“Ask The Expert” is a 220-page compilation of Cardinal manager Tony La Russa’s answers to more than 300 questions about why a major league manager makes the strategic decisions he does — from how to set a lineup to when to relieve a pitcher to when to hit-and-run.

Laclede Gas has published this “Ask The Expert” book with the help of La Russa, Emmy-winning sports broadcaster Joe Buck and KMOX Radio. The book is based on the "Laclede Gas Ask The Expert" series that began in 1996 as part of a radio advertising campaign linking the natural gas experts in St. Louis (Laclede Gas) with the Cardinals’ resident baseball expert (La Russa) through questions posed by Buck, one of broadcasting’s best talents.

The entire $10 from the sale of each book will go to Dollar-Help, a not-for-profit, crisis intervention program that helps the poor pay their heating bills.
